Your Hebrews 4:12 Challenge Assignment:
- Pick any scripture from your Bible that speaks to your heart. Tip: A topical scripture guide is a helpful tool.
- Commit that scripture to memory.
- Journal how the Lord uses that scripture in your heart.
- Journal how the Lord uses that scripture to minister through you to others.
- Repeat assignment with another verse.

This is a great way to become open to opportunities for God to use you. One of my favorite verses is Phil. 4:8 "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." I had a friend whose child was struggling with anger and depression. I shared this verse with her and asked her to share it with her child. The next time I asked her how her son was doing, she said he was so happy to have been given that verse because it really helped him to see that changing his thought pattern could help him to feel more positive. It was so exciting to see someone benefit in a tangible way from scripture!
ReplyDeleteHello, thank you for your blog. I have taken the challenge you suggested using 1 Cor. 10:13. One of the ways the Lord uses this scripture in my life is to keep me from becoming distracted by temptation. I find that the Lord uses scripture memory to bring His word into my mind before I make the wrong choice. Having scripture fresh in my mind makes it easier to keep my focus on God instead of getting sidetracked by temptation. This is one way that I have experienced God using His word to guide my life.
